You need to see Africa, there’s no question about it. And while you can’t go wrong with a safari in South Africa or Botswana, Tanzania offers experiences that are entirely unique. Here are five of our favorites ! (Note: All of these must-see destinations are also great options for your next volunteer trip.) 1. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater If you want to be blown away by an African safari, start here. With rolling grasslands, ancient rock formations and some of the world’s most impressive wildlife viewing opportunities (think cheetahs racing across open plains), The Serengeti is one of Africa’s most famous tourist attractions for good reason . It really is as breathtaking as it looks on Instagram—if not more so!

In addition to seeing some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife—including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants and rhinos—you’ll be surrounded by untamed wilderness and isolated from crowds and city life. The camp also offers excellent guides who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with guests and ensuring your trip exceeds all expectations.
